Tsutomu Asai is an old friend of Minako's from before she visited England. After she returned to Japan, the two lost touch after she quit playing volleyball to focus on her duties as a Sailor Senshi.

Appearance

Information

Minako had a crush on him, but he only wanted to date a girl who played volleyball. Because of this, Minako considered retiring as a Senshi until she found out that he already had a girlfriend.

Asai was attacked by a Daimon and his Pure Heart Crystal was removed and Sailor Venus arrived on the scene and attacked the Daimon with Minako's Flying Somersault Reception. After seeing her in action Asai made the connection that Sailor Venus and Minako were the same people. After his heart crystal was given back he asked Minako to thank Sailor Venus if she ever ran into her.
