美少女战士 (Měi shàonǚ zhànshì) is the Mandarin Chinese dub of Sailor Moon.
In Mainland China, The first two seasons of the anime were dubbed into Mandarin, as well as the movies, though the voice actors differed between the show and the films.
In Season 2, the voice actors other than Sailor Moon's & Tuxedo Mask's were changed.
The opening was an instrumental version of Moonlight Densetsu, but some episodes did play the Japanese theme. The ending songs were left instrumental for both two seasons though some were also left in Japanese.
In the final battle with Queen Beryl, Moonlight Densetsu was cut with no background music playing at all. This was also the case with other episodes with original Japanese songs playing in the background.
There were two separate dubs of the show with different voice actors for the second dubbing, but the script was mostly kept the same.
Episodes had shorter title names than the Japanese version.
The Chinese title is written very similarly to that of the Japanese title. Both are written through the same Chinese Characters (Japanese borrowed Chinese characters to be used as its writing system known as Kanji). The Japanese title is 美少女戦士セーラームーン, while the Chinese title is 美少女戦士.
