Nomenclature and Etymology
The name "Sailor Buri" is a pun on the word "Burikko" (鰤子), a slang term referring to a cutesy girl. The first kanji in the word, "Buri," literally means "yellowtail tuna," hence the fish theme of Sailor Buri's costume.
She wore a costume with a yellow fishtail, a hood shaped like a fish's head and a brassiere that looked like two pink fish kissing each other. Like all Phages, her outfit featured a sailor collar. Her face was covered in heavy make-up. She attacked using an extendable microphone covered in metal spikes and could be used like a mace.
After realizing Alice didn't have the Star Seed she needed, Sailor Iron Mouse withdrew and left the Phage to Sailor Moon and the Sailor Starlights. Sailor Buri attacked Sailor Moon who refused to attack, not wanting to harm Alice. Sailor Star Fighter attacked with Star Serious Laser and explained to Sailor Moon that there was no way to heal a Phage and killing it would be the best thing to do. Sailor Moon refused to believe this and was ultimately successful in saving Alice by performing Starlight Honeymoon Therapy Kiss. This attack purified the Phage and allowed Alice's Star Seed to return to her body, restoring her to normal.
- Microphone - Sailor Buri used a microphone as a weapon. The surface of the item was covered in red metal spikes and could be used in much the same way as a mace. The microphone could also extend in order to reach far distances.
- Sailor Buri is the first Phage to appear in Sailor Moon Sailor Stars, making her the first Phage Sailor Moon fought. She is also the first phage to be healed by Eternal Sailor Moon's Starlight Honeymoon Therapy Kiss attack.
