Saeko Mizuno is Ami Mizuno's mother. This is the original depiction of the character created by Naoko Takeuchi.

Ami's mother is a successful doctor. While she is Ami's primary caregiver and loves her daughter very much, her work as a doctor has kept her busy, leading to Ami becoming self-reliant.

Live Action Series

In the live action series, Saeko and Ami had white board in the kitchen and they wrote messages since they didn't see each other much. In Act 33, Ami was caught by police officers late at night. Saeko told Ami should need to transfer schools since public school didn't work for her daughter. Ami ran away instead of meeting up to transfer schools. In Act 34, Saeko saw Ami on a carousel in the Amusement Park, knowing that Ami loved going there since she was a child. Ami stated that she wanted to do something else more important than studying. Saeko said she understood and loved her regardless.

Manga Series

Saeko treated Mamoru in Act 40 when he was ill at the hospital. Later in the same act she was used by Fish Eye. She came home with a man and said she didn't care about Ami because all Ami cared about was studying. Ami was given her Mercury Crystal by Guardian Mercury, to transform in Super Sailor Mercury.

She then used Mercury Aqua Rhapsody to destroy Fish Eye's illusion and Saeko then fainted.

  • Ami's mother never made a formal appearance in the first anime series or the musicals. She made a very small cameo in the SuperS movie in the opening, but could only be seen from the back showing Ami how to make cookies. She was only mentioned in the musicals.
  • She is only named in the live Acton series. Her first name is never mentioned in the manga anime Crystal or Musical series
