Template:InfoboxCharacterRisa Hino was the name that was given to Rei Hino's mother in "Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon". Rei's mother was never identified in either the manga or the anime.

One of the reasons Rei resented her father was due to the fact that he never visited her mother during her time in the hospital. In all versions of Sailor Moon, sometime during Rei's childhood her mother passed away due to her illness.

It was revealed in the live-action series that Risa was a fan of the story of Princess Kaguya. In Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon she is buried in the graveyard of the Catholic church while ironically Rei would become a Shinto priestess.
In PGSM, her tombstone reads "Risa Hino 1963-1995", so she was therefore 31 or 32 when she died as Rei was 14 in PGSM, which came out in 2003. Risa gave birth to Rei in the year 1989 at the age of 25 or 26 and died when Rei was 5 or 6.
