Leo the Lion is a monster from the Negaverse. Unlike most of Neflite's monsters, Leo's essence was not planted into an item, since Episode 16, Who Is That Masked Man?, is mainly about Neflite trying to kill Sailor Moon, rather than one of his usual energy-absorbing plans. He sends Leo the Lion to attack Sailor Moon and the real Tuxedo Mask. Sailor Moon hits Leo directly in the head with her Moon Tiara Magic, which didn't even affect him. He is recalled by Neflite after he traps Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask in an elevator. Thus Leo the Lion may be the only Youma not to be killed by any of the Sailor Scouts. It is possible, however, that he may have been destroyed along with the Negaverse (along with the other unnamed and unused monsters) when Priness Serena destroyed Queen Beryl.

His name is based off of the constellation, Leo the Lion.

Trivia

This is the first male Negaverse monster seen in the series.
He is the only undefeated monster of the week in the entire anime.
