Template:InfoboxMusical Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon The Super Live is a Sailor Moon Musical. It was advertised as a 2.5D musical. Like the Nogizaka46 musical, this musical is set in the Dark Kingdom Arc of the Sailor Moon manga. The Super Live was initially announced to be performed in Paris as part of Japonismes 2018, which was a series of cultural events that celebrated the 160th anniversary of diplomatic relationships between France and Japan.

The show had a preview performance in Tokyo, Japan from Aug. 31st to Sep. 9th 2018 at the AiiA 2.5 Theater. The Paris, France performance was from Nov. 3-4th 2019 at the Palais des Congrès de Paris. On October 25th, before the Paris performances, the Sailor Moon official site announced that the Super Live would be coming to the Cherry Blossom Festival Opening Ceremony in Washington, DC. Later, dates for a New York City performance would be released as well.  These announcements along with the Paris performances would mark the first time a Sailor Moon musical would be performed in both the USA and France.

The Washington DC perfromance included a brief concert featuring, the encore numbers, at the Cherry Blossom Festival Opening Ceremony on March 23rd, 2019 and a full run of the show on March 24th, 2019 at the Warner Theater. The New York City performanceds occured a week later on Friday Marth 29th, followed by two showings on Saturday March 30th at the PlayStation Theater on Broadway in Manhattan, New York.

Plot

The Super Live is a very loose adaptation of the Dark Kingdom Arc. It has almost no dialogue and a minimum number of songs. The show mostly expresses itself through dance, due to being developed for an international non-Japanese speaking audience.

Trivia

• This is the first musical to only include Kunzite in this musical.
• Two cast members were in previous Sailor Moon musicals. Riona Tatemichi (Tuxedo Mask) was previously Taiki Kou/Sailor Star Maker in Le Mouvement Fina, Hawk's Eye in Amour Eternal and Rubeus in Petite Étrangère. Yui Hsageawa (Team Note/America Sailr Mars) was previously Viluy from Un Nouveau Voyage.
• The cast that performed in the U.S. was a combo of the Music Note cast and the Diamond Cast. It included Tomomi Kasai as Usagi Tsukino/Sailor Moon (originally from Team Blue Musical Note), Momoko Kaechi as Ami Mizuno/Sailor Mercury (originally from Team Blue Musical Note), Yui Hasegawa as Rei Hino/Sailor Mars, Kanna Matsuzaki as Makoto Kino/Sailor Jupiter (originally from Team Yellow Diamond) and Yu Nakanishi as Minako Aino/Sailor Venus.
• The cast that performed at the Usagi 2019 Special Birthday event consisted of the exact same cast as the American performances except for Sailor Mars who was played by Kyoko Ninomiya (originally from Team Yellow Diamond).
• Kyoka was originally scheduled to play Queen Beryl in the Pink Heart and Yellow Diamond cast however could not perform due to illness and therefore Makoto Aikawa took on the role of Queen Beryl for all performances.
