Kakyuu's Incense Burner is a small censer that Princess Kakyuu hid in soon after her arrival on Earth in the manga, 90s anime, and crystal.
Information[]
It is an item from Kinmoku that the Sailor Starlights recognize. It gives off the smell of Sweet Olive (Osmanthus fragrans). It falls under the care of Chibi Chibi after Princess Kakyuu arrives on Earth.
Manga[]
When Chibi Chibi first arrives in the present she immediately notices and finds Princess Kakyuu in distress. Kakyuu hides inside her Incense Burner to rest and recover as Chibi Chibi brings it to Usagi's Home with her. There Usagi smells it and it is the same smell the Sailor Starlights had but she can't remember. Over the next month Chibi Chibi tells Kakyuu about Sailor Moon, and the Sailor Starlights as she recovers inside.
Eventually, the Sailor Starlights visit Usagi while she is recovering from her encounter with Sailor Lead Crow and Sailor Galaxia and as they are leaving Seiya spots and recognizes the burner and its smell. Later when Usagi has returned to Juban High School the Sailor Starlights return to take the burner from Chibi Chibi. To prevent conflict, Princess Kakyuu emerges from the burner to greet her guardians.
Anime[]
Throughout Sailor Stars the Incense Burner gives off a smell visualized by flying butterflies. Long after Chibi Chibi arrives she finds it in episode 191. The Sailor Starlights discover it is in Chibi Chibi's possession in episode 193 and attempt to take it from the child by force outside of Juban High School which sees them in conflict with Makoto.
