Hotaru Tomoe (土萠 ほたる, Tomoe Hotaru) is the daughter of Soichi Tomoe and Keiko Tomoe, and the civilian identity and present-day incarnation of Sailor Saturn (セーラーサターン, Sērā Satān).
Appearance[]
Civilian[]
Sailor Guardian[]
Sailor Saturn's sailor uniform in the musicals is essentially faithful to her original appearance in the manga and anime. Her front and back bows are black, as were the tops of her gloves. Her skirt has two layers, with the top being dark purple and the lower grey. The brooch in the center of her front bow is silver and crystalline in shape, but with a green gem in the center and four gold "compass" points. The trim on her sleeves and skirts is silver, while the trim and stripe on her collar, bows, gloves, choker, and torso are gold.
Information[]
After her original appearance as Miss Dream, Hotaru soon develops a playful personality in the musicals, very different from the other incarnations of her, similar to the treatment of Setsuna Meio. She is nonetheless dedicated to her task as a Sailor Guardian of Death and Destruction; once she becomes one with her other self, as she becomes slightly colder, stoic and more serious.
Sailor Guardian Info[]
In the musicals, she is shown to perform different versions of Death Reborn Revolution. After her awakening as her "other self" in Yume Senshi (Kateiban) she uses her mighty powers of rebirth to revive the Sailor Guardians and in "Mistress Labyrinth" to obliterate the whole world and its people, leaving only Eternal Sailor Moon still alive.
In the song "To a Brand-New World," Sailor Saturn claimes to be "Saturn of Destruction, Saturn of Life"; in the musical Sailor Moon SuperS - (Kaiteiban) Yume Senshi - Ai - Eien ni... Saturn Fukkatsu Hen, she uses her powers of rebirth to return Tuxedo Mask and the Sailor Guardians to life after they are killed, which is a power never shown in other versions of the series.
