Gurikazu Amano (天野 ぐりかず, Amano Gurikazu) is a character who only appeared in the Codename: Sailor V manga.

Appearance

Amano has a strong resemblance to Gurio Umino, who he was most likely the inspiration for, sharing his hairstyle and iconic swirled glasses.

Information

While Amano has had to be rescued by Sailor V from minions of the Dark Agency, he has also seemed to avoid falling into traps by the Dark Agency. Sometimes minions of the Dark Agency would actively avoid targeting him because they would find him unattractive. It is usually after he accidentally discovers the Dark Agent's plot where Sailor V has to rescue him. In one case, he even had a chance to work directly with Sailor V when she got trapped in a video game and he took the video game controls, playing as Sailor V, directing her moves and defeating the youma in the video game.

    • 数 - "number".

    • 計 - "total, plan".
    • 知 - "knowledge".
    • 一 - "one".
    • 二 - "two".

    • 佳寿 - "good, beautiful" (佳) (ka) and "longevity, congratulations, one's natural life" (寿) (zu).
    • 嘉寿 - "applaud, praise, esteem, happy, auspicious" (嘉) (ka) and "longevity, congratulations, one's natural life" (寿) (zu).
    • 花寿 - "flower, blossom" (花) (ka) and "longevity, congratulations, one's natural life" (寿) (zu).
  • Gurikazu's surname Amano means "heaven/heavenly, sky, imperial" (天) (ama) and "field, wilderness" (野) (no).
