Summary[]

Usagi continues to ponder whether Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune are allies or adversaries. Meanwhile, Haruka and Michiru befriend Setsuna, who is already aware of their destinies as Sailor Senshi who are also protectors of the solar system from afar. Chibiusa comes again to Hotaru's home and is ready to show her her new Holy Grail. But will she reveal more than she intends?

Plot[]

Motoki and Reika invite Setsuna to dinner, but she declines, having already eaten with her professor. Reika gets jealous when Motoki mentions how Makoto would love Setsuna's room, which is full of plants. On the train, Motoki suggests going to fancy restaurants in the area Setsuna is investigating, but Reika finds the area to be dark and creepy and refuses.

Kaolinite and Professor Tomoe contact Pharaoh 90, who is not pleased with their lack of progress in finding hosts (souls) and vessels for him. He says he can sense the light of destruction near Sailor Moon's light, and commands Kaolinite and Tomoe to destroy the former and bring him the latter so he can exterminate humanity and turn Earth into "our second mother planet". Kaolinite contacts Tellu, who is known in Mugen as Ruru Teruno, prefect of physical education and its botanical garden, and says she'll bring Pharaoh 90 souls of the highest quality.

Chibiusa's art teacher tells her class to give the clay objects they made in class to someone they care about. Chibiusa decides to give her Holy Grail replica to Hotaru. Hotaru is being bullied by other girls at Mugen.

Usagi tells Ami and Makoto she wants to see Haruka and Michiru again and talk with them so they can be on the same side.

Makoto has joined the greenhouse club, and someone tells her about a popular plant called a Tellun that doesn't have to be watered and is being sold by the Mugen botanical garden.

Luna, Artemis, and the Sailor Guardians confirm that Mugen Academy is the Death Busters' hideout. When Tomoe comes up, Usagi realizes Hotaru is his daughter. Later, Makoto gets a Tellun, which are bred by Tellu. Usagi insists she go with Chibiusa to Tomoe's lab for her safety, where Hotaru lives. After Hotaru stops Kaolinite from trying to kick them out, Chibiusa gives her Holy Grail replica to her, and when Usagi says she expected her to give it to Mamoru, Chibiusa says that since they both worked on it for her, it wouldn't be fair to Usagi. Hotaru turns it down, saying to share it with Usagi and Mamoru instead, but she appreciates this.

Chibiusa's Silver Crystal stops another of Hotaru's attacks, and when Chibiusa mentions its name, Hotaru briefly enters a trance, as if someone else inside her wants the Crystal. Kaolinite overhears the Silver Crystal being mentioned. When Usagi meets Tomoe, she finds his hand feels cold as ice and gets the feeling he isn't human. On the way home, Chibiusa thinks she sees Sailor Pluto.

Minako goes to Makoto's house where most of her plants aren't doing too well supposedly because of the rain. Both suddenly feel tired and fall asleep. When they wake up, they see that the Tellun has drained the life from Makoto's other plants to grow. Makoto cuts it with a knife and it disintegrates into darkness. As Usagi discovers that two of the three areas forming Mugenzu share the same last names at Haruka and Michiru, the other Sailor Guardians tell her Mugen Garden is their enemy. Usagi notices Haruka and Michiru and goes after them, wanting to talk to them, but they won't say anything to her.

The Sailor Guardians go to Mugen Garden, where they find people's souls drained by Telluns, which start to suck the Sailor Guardians' energy. Haruka and Michiru sense Setsuna's energy being drained and that she's someone close to them. However, Setsuna reawakens as Sailor Pluto. The Sailor Guardians transform and fight Tellu, but she absorbs Sailor Moon's Moon Spiral Heart Attack. Luna P turns into a Heart Moon Rod for Sailor Chibi Moon, who uses Pink Sugar Heart Attack. Tellu smiles sinister and absorbs this as well, she gets wrapped in thorny vines, transforms into a monstrous form, and gains the upper hand on the Sailor Guardians, but as she's about to attack again, Sailor Pluto destroys her with Dead Scream.

Changes[]

Changes from the Manga[]

  • Only Sailor Jupiter, Sailor Moon, and Chibi Moon attacked Tellu before her transformation.
  • Reika doesn't pull Motoki's ear on the train for complimenting Setsuna on her beauty.
  • Motoki doesn't comment on Reika being afraid of the Mugenzu area as being cute.
  • When Sailor Chibi Moon used Pink Sugar Heart Attack on Tellu, the witch was hurt so badly by it that she had to take on a Daimon form.
  • Makoto suspects Usagi is conflicted because she's starting to develop feelings for Haruka.
  • Makoto tells the boy in the Gardening Club her plants haven't been doing well.
  • Tellu does not absorb any of the Sailor Guardians' attacks
  • Sailor Jupiter's Jupiter Coconut Cyclone was able to counter Tellu's Mandragora Buster, stopping the attack.
  • Tellu did not place herself in a cocoon of vines to transform into a Daimon.
    • Tellu's Daimon appearance did not have any semblance of her human form.

Changes from the 90's Anime[]

  • Setsuna was never shown to awaken as Sailor Pluto. She already was the Guardian of Time when she met up with Sailor Moon and the others when the Space Sword and the Deep Aqua Mirror were revealed.
  • There were no suspicions of strange shifts in space around Mugen Academy.
  • Hotaru was intrigued by Usagi's Cosmic Heart Compact, which gradually began strengthening the dark power of an evil female entity living deep within her.
  • Setsuna almost fell victim to a Tellun but was saved by her Garnet Rod.
  • Only Sailor Moon, Sailor Chibi Moon, Sailor Pluto, and Tuxedo Mask had fought Tellu.
  • Luna-P never turned into the Pink Moon Stick. Sailor Chibi Moon already had it with her when she returned from the future.
  • Pink Sugar Heart Attack had most of the time a more comedic, childish effect on its opponent.
  • Tellu could release vines from her hand, which would constrict her victim and electrocute them.
  • Tellu never took on a monstrous appearance, instead she grew a Tellun into a Hyper Tellun.
  • Tellu perished because of her Hyper Tellun, as Tuxedo Mask destroyed her amulet holding the Pure Hearts to free them, which causing the Hyper Tellun attacked her and forced her to use her electric vines to attack it, destroying them both.
