"Usagi’s Parental Love: the Curry Romance Triangle" is the 20th episode of the 2nd season of the Sailor Moon anime and the 66th episode overall. It aired in Japan on August 21, 1993. The DiC English dub title for this episode is "A Curried Favor" and it aired in North America on November 14, 1995.
Summary[]
Usagi and Chibiusa decide to make curry together for a party at her school the next day, but when they try to buy supplies they find the Juuban Supermarket is being targeted by Calaveras and Petz.
Plot[]
Kenji and Ikuko are unable to attend the curry potluck at Chibiusa's school, so Usagi volunteers to make the curry in their place. Chibiusa is not happy about it and refuses her help. She thinks of her real parents and misses them.
Chibiusa tries making rice on her own but fails and cries for her parents. Usagi suggests visiting Mamoru for advice. At Mamoru's Home, the girls invite him to the party but none of them know how to make curry rice. Usagi volunteers to make it anyway.
Petz eats cake and argues with Calaveras. Rubeus arrives and points out the next Crystal Point is in a Supermarket and the two girls leave to target it. The Inner Sailor Guardians try helping Usagi with food preparation. Usagi, Chibiusa, and Mamoru start walking toward the store to buy ingredients and Chibiusa starts thinking of her parents visualizing the pair as them.
At the store, Petz and Calaveras try to give out dark fruit samples with Avocadora at the Store. The people who eat the samples get brainwashed and start spreading dark power. When Usagi, Mamoru, and Chibiusa arrive, they find almost all of the food is rotten. Luna tells Usagi something is wrong with the store and she stays behind after the other two leave ahead of her. Outside, Mamoru and Chibiusa meet Rei who wants to make boxed curry. Inside, Luna points out even metal rots away.
As Rei, Chibiusa, and Mamoru head back to the store Rei senses something wrong. The droid to who drain the energy from those under their spell. Usagi transforms and saves Luna from Avocadora as Sailor Mars arrives. The Sailor Guardians are saved from Peeled Lychee Grenade by Tuxedo Mask who starts fighting the droid. The Senshi attack the two Spectre Sisters but Burning Mandala doesn't work. As the sisters argue, Sailor Jupiter, Sailor Mercury, and Sailor Venus arrive. Sailor Moon uses Moon Princess Halation to finish the droid and the sisters retreat. The store returns to normal with all of the civilians and rotten products restored.
Afterwards, Usagi makes her curry and rice and she, Mamoru, and Chibiusa try it. It turned out well and they will be ready for the next day.

- This is the 2nd time in the anime that Usagi cooked curry. The 1st time was in episode 45, when she cooked it for her family. It came out with terrible results that time.
