"Crusade for the Galaxy: Legend of the Sailor Wars" is the 28th episode of the 5th season of the Sailor Moon anime and is the 194th overall. It aired in Japan on December 7, 1996.

Summary[]

Princess Kakyuu tells Usagi the legend of an ancient battle, the Sailor Wars, and how a legendary Sailor Senshi ended it sealing chaos away. Now Chaos (Sailor Galaxia) is back and the only way to defeat it is finding the Light of Hope that the legendary Sailor Senshi has left.

Changes from the Manga[]

  • The Sailor Wars legend was never mentioned in the manga.
  • The Outer Sailor Senshi were not opposed to teaming up with the Starlights in the manga, with Haruka being the one who suggested joining forces with them after the Inner Sailor Senshi had been killed.
  • Sailor Tin Nyanko was never partially healed in the manga.

  • This was the first time Sailor Galaxia's human form was shown.
  • The full animation sequence for Fighter Star Power, Make Up was featured for the first time in the anime.
  • In the rain scene where Usagi was crying over her missing boyfriend, Mamoru, she recognizes the red rose that Seiya threw on Sailor Tin Nyanko when he rescues her from becoming a victim.
  • Tuxedo Mask appears in a silhouette when Eternal Sailor Moon is in danger but the silhouette turns out to be Seiya who threw the red rose on Sailor Tin Nyanko while handing his red formal jacket before transforming into Sailor Star Fighter.
  • In the Viz Media English Dub, Usagi's voice is changed to her normal pitch when facing Sailor Tin Nyanko but her voice returns back into a high pitch.
