"Clash of Dreams: Minako and Makoto's Broken Friendship" is the 27th episode of the 4th season of the Sailor Moon anime and the 154th episode overall. It aired in Japan on November 25, 1995. The CWi English dub title for this episode was "Nightmare Garden" and it aired in North America on Halloween in the year 2000 (October 31, 2000).

Summary[]

Makoto and Minako have an all-out fight, which leads to trouble when the Amazon Quartet comes to ruin the lovely flower garden.

Changes from the Manga[]

These events never happened in the manga.
In the manga, Makoto and Minako did not gain their new attacks and Super Sailor transformation sequences at the same time.
- Makoto got her power up after receiving her Sailor Crystal from Guardian Jupiter after she was attacked by Hawk's Eye.
- Minako received her power up when she got her Sailor Crystal from Artemis after falling into a trap by the dagger-throwing twins, Xenotime and Zeolite, and the Amazoness Quartet.
Both Super Sailor Senshi gained two different items that allowed them to perform their new attacks: The Leaves of Oak, for Super Sailor Jupiter, and the Whip of Love for Super Sailor Venus.

Trivia[]

The song that played before Minako's performance to the kindergarten kids was "Route Venus", one of her image songs in the anime. It was the first time the song was featured in one of the anime episodes.
As with their previous power-up episode, the plot of Makoto and Minako fighting with each other and nearly breaking their friendship is used.
Usagi's primary outfit in this episode has a minor color change. The first one is Minako.
