The "Crystal Change Rod" is the name for the third transformation devices granted to the Inner Sailor Senshi by Pegasus. These mystical rods allowed them to transform into their Super Sailor Senshi forms, as well as unlocking new attacks. These devices only appeared in the 90s anime, during its 4th and 5th seasons, as well as the Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon SuperS: The Movie.

In the manga, each Sailor Guardian used their Sailor Crystals to transform into their Super Sailor forms, meaning these items were not necessary in that continuity.

- They remained in use in the final season as well, as the Sailor Senshi did not receive their Eternal forms in the anime.
- The symbols that surround the Sailor Guardians’ planetary symbols on the Rod's orb and the symbols that appear behind them at the end of their transformations are references to the items in the manga that the Inners use to perform their Super attacks. The lyre is the Mercury Harp (used for Mercury Aqua Rhapsody), the bow and arrow is the Mars Arrow (used for Mars Flame Sniper), the laurel is the Leaves of Oak (used for Jupiter Oak Evolution), and the roses are the Whip of Love (used for Venus Love and Beauty Shock).
- Despite attaining their Super forms, the Outer Senshi were never seen transforming or using any kind of transformation item during the Stars season.
- The name “Crystal Change Rod” comes from a toy replica released by Bandai.
