"Chibiusa's Picture Diary Chapter 3 - Beware of Cavities!" is the 3rd chapter of the Chibiusa Picture Diary short story series in the manga. It is written and illustrated by Naoko Takeuchi.
Summary[]
Usagi and Chibiusa have both developed cavities and need to visit the dentist - but all the staff at the dentist's office are really evil spirits determined to make their cavities worse. They exorcise the clinic with the help of Sailor V and Diana.
Plot[]
Ikuko loves cooking sweets for her family every day after their time at school and work. Chibiusa is in distress on her way to Juban Public Elementary School and Momo is worried about her. Kyuuske teases them but it doesn't help. After school, an examination by Ami reveals she has cavities and she found Usagi has many as well.
Chibiusa has never heard of the things as they must have been eliminated in the 30th century and Rei, Ami, and Minako describe the disease to the pampered princess stoking her fears of the terrible disease. Ami suggests they go to the dentist to "cure" them while Ikuko overhears and scolds her girls for their poor oral hygiene.
Chibiusa is looking forward to visiting the dentist to rid herself of the ancient disease but Usagi shares her fear the place with the child making them both nervous of their next day at the Juban Dental Clinic when they visit with Kenji and Diana. It's and old clinic and the practices of the old Dentist running it leave the two scared out of their minds and they leave without having anything done about their teeth.
That night a genius loci, Resin, awakens which feeds off the cavities in the Juban Dental Clinic and possesses the building and its resident dentist in a bid to create more. The next day, Minako sees an advertisement for a remodelled Juban Dental Clinic which has a hot dentist on it and demands to join the crew in returning so she can have a peek at him.
Inside they meet the handsome Dentist and a pretty Assistant. They are served sweets which everyone but Diana eats and puts them to sleep. Chibiusa is called for her appointment and sleepily walks to it. Diana saves Chibiusa before terrible things can happen to her. Chibiusa transforms. The spirit makes Super Sailor Chibi Moon's cavities hurt which causes her to cry and sets off Supersonic Waves. The enemies start throwing cake and sweets at the child to stop the crying and tempt her as Diana is waking up Usagi and Minako. Sailor V and Super Sailor Moon burst in to help Chibusa focus and Super Sailor Chibi Moon destroys the spirit with the power of sugar - Pink Sugar Heart Attack. This causes the clinic and dentist to revert to their normal forms, to Minako's dismay.
Chibiusa and Usagi later visit the saved Juban Dental Clinic to have their cavities treated by the old dentist and Ikuko starts serving sugarless snacks.

Trivia[]
- The original release of the manga simply called this "Chibiusa's Picture Diary" (ちびうさ絵日記, Chibi Usa Enikki) but the re-release of the manga gave it the subtitle "Beware of Cavities" (虫歯にご用心!, Mushiba ni Goyoujin!).
- This side-story was later developed into an episode of the Sailor Moon anime.
- Ikuko's boast of never having a single cavity in her 36 year life is how we know her age.
