Etymology[]

Chaos is named after Chaos from Greek mythology. Chaos was a primordial god, a dark shapeless void, and the original state of existence from which the first entities appeared. The mythological Chaos was neither good nor evil.

Appearance[]

Chaos is a giant cloud-like being with two big, shiny glowing eyes and has a symbol above its eyes that somewhat resembles a star. It also has a giant ring at the bottom of its cloud-like body. This ring is actually the Galaxy Cauldron.

Personality[]

Chaos is manipulative, cold, and single-minded. It treats others as tools to achieve her ends with little care for their fate. Chaos cares for nothing but power and many members of Shadow Galactica have inherited Chaos' ideology.

Information[]

Chaos is the dark force of the Galaxy Cauldron which failed to become a star. It stands in opposition to the Cauldron's light and creates incarnations of itself born of darkness inside the Cauldron. Chaos' ultimate goal is to become a true star itself - one powerful enough to usurp the Galaxy Cauldron as the most powerful star in the cosmos and rule in its stead.[1][2]

To achieve its goal, Chaos sends its servants all over to gather the physical manifestations of power: Sailor Crystals and powerful Star Seeds. Chaos' incarnations travel through the Cauldron across space-time to attack Queen Serenity, Sailor Moon, and Neo-Queen Serenity seeking their powerful light. These incarnations include the main villains Sailor Moon previously faced: Queen Metalia, Wiseman, Pharaoh 90, and Queen Nehelenia. Chaos does not just rely on its incarnations but also tempts individuals with dreams of the power Chaos plans for itself and recruits them to unwittingly further Chaos' ends. In the past, Sailor Galaxia found such an individual in a bar on an alien planet and eventually encountered a servant of Chaos, Wiseman, who convinced Galaxia to visit Chaos at Sagittarius Zero Star.

From there, guided by Chaos, Sailor Galaxia began her Shadow Galactica empire. She gathered Sailor Crystals into Garden Crystals as she scoured many worlds including planets: Chuu, Cocoon, Coronis, Kinmoku, Mau, and Mermaid. During her conquest, Galaxia recruited many others to assist including other Sailor Guardians (Sailor Phi, Sailor Chi, Sailor Lethe, Sailor Mnemosyne) and mortals empowered with star power: the Sailor Animamates.

Eventually the time Chaos had been working toward came and Sailor Galaxia arrives at the Galaxy Cauldron with countless Sailor Crystals and the holder of the Silver Crystal. After Galaxia offers a massive Garden Crystal and the Golden Crystal to Chaos she reveals herself. In an explosion of power, Chaos attacks Galaxia, who planned to betray her master and had fulfilled her purpose, and reveals its enormous form which was merged with the Galaxy Cauldron itself.

Chaos only needed to seize Sailor Moon's power and her goal would be complete. Chaos revealed to Sailor Moon the truth of the incarnations and prepared to attack. When the time came, Sailor Moon did something unexpected. She did not fight the being but rather she threw herself into the Cauldron and gathered the power of countless Sailor Crystals into herself and used it to drag Chaos into the Cauldron, breaking it apart and dissolve into the Cauldron's depths. Though Eternal Sailor Moon destroyed Chaos, the Galaxy Cauldron is the source of all life and one day Chaos would return.

Powers[]

Chaos is an immortal being, and so long as the Galaxy Cauldron exists, it will never die permanently. Through some vague process, it is responsible for the existence of its many incarnations. Chaos wields great power which dwarfs the strongest Sailor Senshi in the galaxy.
